History
So that the cranes, halls and lines of the port would have light, an electric plant was raised between 1900 and 1905 — among the first of this calibre in Romania, on a line that in North America had begun two or three decades earlier. Anghel Saligny held the project within the works at the berths, under Carol I.
The building (LMI CT-II-m-B-02785, in the area of berth 17) looks like a technical hall: simple volumes, workshop windows, masonry of the early 20th century. It is not a museum of electricity; it is the place from which current for the port began.
