History
In the 4th century, Tomis had on the shore a warehouse-terrace with a mosaic floor, linked to the harbour. The building was brought to light under the seafront and covered with a pavilion. You see hundreds of square metres of geometric and vegetal motifs, plus basins and storerooms.
It is below, under today's street level. The entrance is from the tourist harbour area, close to Ovidiu Square.
Get a ticket from the museum in the square or at the desk on the spot. 30–40 minutes are enough. Follow the walkway; do not step on the tesserae.
