History
The highest point of ancient Tomis was inhabited, with only short interruptions, from the 5th century BC to the 6th century AD. Below, archaeologists found Greek huts with “Olbian foundations”; above, stone houses and traces from the Roman and late periods.
The materials (pottery, tools, wall remains) show a port that never left the hill, even as its masters changed. For you, the ground is a slope of foundations: climb slowly and see how it ties into the rest of the peninsula.
This is the place from which you understand why the Greeks chose this headland, not a lower beach.
