History
Still on Nicolae Titulescu, but with another visual vocabulary, stands the Tulea Weissbuch house. It is port Art Nouveau, with volutes, rosettes and ironwork that is not content to hold the glass: it twists, opens into flowers, ties itself to the stucco.
The family belonged to the grain trade, and the house shows that without writing it on the pediment. In the details rococo mixes with an already quiet neoclassicism, as if the patron had asked for “modern, but let it be seen that we have standing”.
Walk the opposite pavement to catch the whole façade. If you catch the afternoon light, the ornament comes out more clearly than at noon, when the sun flattens it.
