Constanța Port Museum - The Queen's Nest

History
Between 1910 and 1914, on the breakwater at the harbour mouth, a small pavilion was built for Queen Elisabeth, next to the Carol I Lighthouse. From there she watched the sea; the project is tied to the works of Anghel Saligny and the port engineers. After 1927–1929 it was still used by the royal family, then by the quay administration.
Since 1998 the space has been the Constanța Port Museum. You see quay plans, tools, photographs from the yard around 1900 and the summer rooms, restored with restraint.
Access is through the port: ID card, sometimes a short schedule. It is not a long visit; it is worth it if you are already on the breakwater or at the lighthouse.
