History
In 1812, after Bessarabia passed to the Tsarist Empire, Sultan Mahmud II ordered a mosque at Hârșova, on the bank that had remained Ottoman. The building is simple, of stone, with a minaret, without palace decoration.
In 1916 it suffered war damage. It was repaired and still serves the community. The interior is one hall, carpets, a mihrab.
It is in town, not on the fortress rock. Shoes off, covered dress. You can see it on the same round as the museum and the ruins on the bank.
