History
At Țepeș Vodă, in the churchyard or in the cemetery, you will not find a monumental ensemble, but crosses of stone, concrete or wood with the names of the men taken in 1916-1918. They are village works, with short inscriptions, sometimes washed away by rain.
You look for them on the ground, not from the road. Take an hour, speak with whoever opens the church; often locals know which cross belongs to which family, information that no monument list has.
Do not move the flowers and do not “restore” the paint. If you want campaign context, tie the village to the fighting around Cobadin and Topraisar, not to a general legend about the war.
