History
At the corner of Callatis and Marcus Aurelius, in 1897, Paul Ernst drew a two-level neoclassical house for the Parusi family. The plan is rectangular, the façade has a more projected central bay, the windows hold the rhythm.
It was a dwelling, not a hotel. In late-nineteenth-century Constanța such an address meant a family of means, close to the harbour and the offices. At first the ground floor and the storey spoke the same language; today you still have to lift your gaze above the shop signs.
The streets are narrow, good to walk. Stop on the opposite corner to catch both fronts.
