History
The puppet section of the State Theatre has been running since 1956. As a separate institution, the Căluțul de Mare Theatre for Children and Youth split off in 2002, with the support of the County Council. It plays in the Elpis Hall and on tour.
The repertory is for ages 3–15: puppets, mask, sometimes actors in view. The shows last about an hour. Tickets sell out on season weekends.
It is a good choice when the weather is poor on the beach. Check the age on the poster - not all plays are for preschoolers.
