History
At the edge of Migilet forest, near Ion Corvin, a low cave is tied to the tradition that the apostle Andrew stayed here in the 1st century. The monastery above was organized in 1943; after decades of interruption, monastic life resumed and the complex expanded.
Below, along the stone path, you enter the cool hollow with icons and oil lamps. Above are the new church and the cells. From Constanța it is about 60 kilometres on DN3.
Summer weekends are full. For quiet, choose a weekday, in the morning. Low shoes, shoulders covered in church.
