History
A khachkar - Armenian stone cross, cut with vegetal and religious motifs - was raised in Constanța in 2017, close to the Casino. It is the first of this type in the town and holds in mind the Armenian community of Dobrogea, come here for generations, and the memory of the Armenian Genocide.
The stone reads from close: it is not an equestrian statue, it is a vertical slab. You catch it on the seafront walk, in five minutes. If you want more context, ask after the Armenian church in town; the monument on the shore is only the visible end of that presence.
