History
On the seafront, next to the statue of Anghel Saligny, an early-20th-century villa - once a prefect's residence - has housed since 1968 the works of the sculptor Ion Jalea, born in Casimcea. The building was designed in the same period as the great works on the shore.
The rooms hold sketches, portraits, funerary pieces and fragments of public monuments. After the war he worked with one hand; the cut is sure, without surplus detail.
The visit takes 40–50 minutes. Combine it with a walk on the seafront, not with a long museum tour: after Ovidiu Square, this is a pause of air and stone.
