History
In 1914, on the high cliff of the peninsula, Edgar de Goue raised Hotel Palace for the people who went up in the evening to the Casino. The line is of a resort: wide windows, Riviera air, “La Belle Époque” without copying a palace.
The First World War cut the luxury season; the second closed it altogether. After 1970 it entered the state circuit, and the 1990s found it tired. The volume on the cliff remains, however, the same horizon landmark.
Look at it from the promenade, then from the harbour, from below. In the evening the lights on the façade stand in for an interior visit, if the lobby is not open to the public.
