Abdul Hagi Zaid Inn
History
At 3 Ecaterina Varga Street, between 1885 and 1890, Abdul Hagi Zaid built a Balkan-type inn: a courtyard for horses and carts, guest rooms along the sides. It is the only building of this kind left in Constanța. After the union of Dobrogea, the neighbourhood changed; the inn survived as a building.
The façade is discreet. The courtyard can be seen if you catch an open gate or an event. It is not a museum with a daily ticket desk.
It is in the old district, next to the She-Wolf. Look at the volume and the woodwork on the upper floor: that tells you more than a plaque.
