History
The mosque in the village of 2 Mai was finished in 2006, for the Muslims of the locality and of the villages around — Vânători, Tatlageac, Hagieni, Albești, Moșneni. The hall holds, on Friday (jumu’ah) and in Ramadan, dozens of people; the rest of the year it is a neighbourhood place of prayer, not a pilgrimage.
The architecture mixes Ottoman lines with Crimean Tatar details of Dobruja: a minaret, a prayer hall, a gathering space. It is two steps from the road to the beach, so you see it even if you have not come specially.
At prayer time, respect footwear and silence. Between hours, you can look at the courtyard; if you want to go in, ask. It is not a site with a guide; it is a place of worship in use.
