History

Among the blocks, beside the old 1 Mai Stadium - today Farul - stands a fountain from the 1950s, worked in an Art Deco line, with a stone dragon that holds the composition. It is among the largest works of this type in Europe, but you drive past it hundreds of times without knowing its name.

The architect and historian Vlad Mitric-Ciupe documented it when Constanța had almost forgotten it. The basin, the steps and the relief on the rim read better if you get out of the car and walk around it, not from the traffic.

It is not in the centre, it has no ticket desk. Go in the afternoon, when the sun is not blinding on the concrete, and pair the stop with a match at the stadium or a walk through the housing around it.
