History
On Nicolae Iorga Street no. 12, the parish began a new church in 1915, to the plans of Nicolae Paveliu. The war cut the site; works resumed after 1923, and the painting, with the participation of Nicolae Tonitza, was finished toward 1930.
It is a listed monument, with a high nave and a façade of the early twentieth century, not of a recent Byzantine pastiche. Inside, look for the scenes signed or attributed to Tonitza: something other than a routine painter's memorial list.
The visit is made in the church's hours. After you come out, you are still in the interwar fabric of Constanța, a walk from Tomis and from the Art Museum.
