History
Sava Șomănescu, a Bucharest landowner, led between 1908 and 1910 the Agrarian Society and the League for the Cultural Unity of all Romanians, in the years before the Great Union. His house in Constanța is a category A monument: it is not an ordinary holiday villa.
The building shows the standing of a man who came to the sea with a political agenda, not only with a suitcase. The façade is sober, of a house of rank, in a city that was only just making its Romanian elite.
Look it up on the list of monuments and view it from the street. It is not open as a museum; it is an address to read, then to link with the hotels and institutions after 1878.
