History
At number 13 in Ovidiu Square, the house does not look at the statue, but at the harbour. That says enough about the Damadian family, Armenians with money from trade, and about Constanța from 1894 on: the business was on the water, not in the square.
Through the house passed Alice Wegener, then Armenag and Haigouhy Damadian. Victor Ștefănescu put his hand on the volumes. After 1948 the owner changed, as everywhere; in 2004 talks began on saving the façade.
Walk around the square until you catch the angle toward the cranes. It is the photograph that explains why it is oriented “wrongly”. Do not go into the courtyard without an invitation.
