History
Cornel Medrea (1888–1956) modelled in stone, in 1963, two figures standing close to each other, as in a word said halfway. The ensemble was placed in 1964 beside the Victoria complex in Mamaia, on the grass between the hotels and the Promenade; it is listed CT-III-m-B-02947.
The stone has suffered from salt and from years without care, but the silhouettes are still recognizable. The same Medrea has other pieces in Constanța — “The Child” at the Art Museum, “The Fishermen” toward the Casino — if you want to see his hand in more than one place.
The stop is five minutes, on foot, between the beach and the hotel. It is not lit like a square monument; look for it by day.
