Short protocol
Tipping, photographing people, greeting, clothes at a place of worship. Dobrogea is mixed: a summer harbour, an Old Believer village, a mosque, a house on the bank. Ask permission. Follow the signs. Do not treat people as décor for your holiday.
Greeting
Bună ziua holds from morning into the afternoon. In Turco-Tatar communities, a merhaba is welcome if it is respectful, not mimicry. Among Lipovans, a hello and a low voice in church are enough.
Photos
Ask permission before you photograph people, tables, yards, children. At places of worship, follow the notice or the person at the door. Cemeteries: no picnic, no pictures of recent graves.
Tipping
A custom, not a tax. Rounding up or 10% where there is table service. On a boat, if it is a short-trip crew, ask locally - it is not required and it is not "a second ticket".
Clothes
Shoulders and knees at the mosque and at many churches. On a site, closed shoes. On a summer seafront, wear what you like - but do not walk into the village shop in a swimsuit as if it were a lounge.
Time
"Dobrogean time" is not an excuse, but a boat, a site gate and a winery have their own rhythm. Wait without the horn. Off-season, people are fewer and more available - do not turn them into unpaid guides.
