Mosques and Muslim heritage
Dobrogea is one of the few regions in the country where the mosque is part of the everyday landscape, not a display case. Modest dress, quiet, respect for prayer. Visiting hours belong to the community and appear on a sheet only if they have been checked.
Etiquette
Shoulders and knees covered. Head covered where it is asked. Shoes off. No photographs during a service unless it is allowed. Low voice. It is not a selfie museum and not "sight 12" on a tick-list.
Constanța
The Carol I Mosque (1913) is a peninsula landmark: minaret, dome, the visual axis towards the square. Neighbourhood mosques hold the community, not the tour. Look them up in the catalogue; do not squeeze them into a rushed hour.
Mangalia
Esmahan Sultan is often named as the oldest mosque still standing in the country, built in part from fortress stone. It sits in the town, not on an abstract hill. The Callatis walk reaches it.
Babadag
Gazi Ali Paşa and the türbe of Sari Saltuk. The town is worth more than a ten-minute stop on DN22. The one-day Babadag guide ties the mosque to the forest and Casa Panaghia.
An Ottoman day
If you want a thread, not a collection: Constanța – Mangalia – Babadag is too much for one day. Choose the coast or the north. The dedicated guide keeps 4–5 realistic stops.
What we do not do
We do not publish namaz times as an attraction. We do not send groups in during a service. We do not claim a mosque is "open to tourists" if the community has not said so.
