History
On DN3, between Constanța and Ostrov, some 102 km from the municipality and 22 from Ostrov, the settlement stands between Dervent and the Cave of the Holy Apostle Andrew. It started in November 2004 from a stable given by Stelian Danciu, turned into a chapel and cells. In 2005-2006 the church and the first consecrations came; 2009 and 2014 brought new bodies, with craftsmen such as Adrian Botea and Elena Chertif.
The dedication is Saint John the Baptist. It is a nuns' monastery, on an easy car road, good to stop at when you do the south-west circuit: Dervent, the cave, then back toward Ion Corvin. Covered clothes, no music in the courtyard, candles at the desk.
