History
Zafiros Kyryakou raised his house in 1894, 16 years after the Union of Dobruja, on a plot in the Decebal area — a merchant’s dwelling, not a palace. The monument (LMI CT-II-m-B-02860) keeps its main body, but the plasters, windows and decorations above have suffered successive interventions, without a thorough restoration.
The façade still shows 19th-century symmetry. Together with other Greek houses in the centre, it explains why Constanța of that time resembled, in places, an Aegean port.
Do not enter the courtyard. A photograph from the pavement and a note on the map are enough; the present state is fragile.
