Sfântu Gheorghe (village)
A village at a branch mouth, with no road. A boat from Tulcea, a Delta rhythm, a wild beach, a film festival when it is announced. The boat timetable is the operator's. If you miss the last one, you stay.
How you get there
A passenger boat from Tulcea. There is no plan B on tarmac. A thought-through return ticket. In winter, rare sailings. Luggage is a backpack, not an airport wheeled suitcase.
The village
Sand streets, houses, a church, a logic of fishers and guests. It is not a resort. The shop has village hours. Cash. Respect the yards.
The beach
Long, wild, without a sunbed grid. The lifeguard, if there is one, is seasonal. Off-season, it is wind and space. ARBDD remains the rule.
Time
One night beats a rushed day-return. Two nights hold a Delta mouth. The one-day Sulina guide is another branch, another character.
