Modern Beach
The beach season has closed (after 15 September). On the coast it is autumn/cold: promenade, museums, towns. Not bathing weather. Lifeguard, showers and sunbeds — only in the bathing season (1 June–15 September).

History
Below the Casino cliff, Modern Beach is the most handy strip of sand in the city. You arrive on foot from the peninsula, without taking the bus toward Mamaia. It has a sector with sunbeds and free stretches; the sand is fine, but the beach is not as wide as to the north.
Beside it stands the tourist harbour, so you can join a swim with a walk on the pontoon. Morning is bearable; after lunch, in August, it is full. The water is of the city: check the flags and avoid days after a storm, when it brings algae.
Leave the car far off, in town, and go down the stairs from the cliff. Bring water and a pair of stone slippers: access is not everywhere over soft sand.
