History
At the neck of the peninsula, where old Constanța begins, Cathedral Park — more and more often called the Archaeological Park — holds in view walls, column bases and lapidarium pieces from Tomis. The layers run from Greeks and Getae to the late Romans and the Romano-Byzantine age.
The twentieth-century laying-out turned the site into a park where you can read the stones without a museum ticket. The cathedral is immediately beside; the logical route is park, then church, then descent toward the tourist harbour.
In summer look for shade. In winter, with the leaves down, the walls show more cleanly. A plan of 30–40 minutes is enough, if you do not stop at every inscription.
