History
At the edge of Tulcea, on the bank of Lake Zaghen, an open-air museum remakes a fishermen's household: wooden houses, reed and adobe, a windmill, a fish-processing shed, net and ice tools. The entrance takes you out of town in two minutes' walk.
Go into the rooms: narrow beds, icons, an oven, the smell of dry reed. Outside, compare the fish shed with what you still see in the Delta today, to understand what has been lost of the craft and what has been kept.
Take an hour, not a selfie at the gate. If you then leave toward the canals, you already have the vocabulary: what a cardă is, what a net coteț is, why the roof is reed and not tile.
