History
Țuțuiatu, the highest peak, is 467 metres. That is all. The Măcin Mountains do not wait for you with glaciers, but with old stone, downy-oak forest and granite ridges that you do in a day there and back from Măcin or from Greci.
The national park is in north-western Dobrogea. The Pricopan ridge is the route you see in all the photographs: rounded rocks, a view toward the floodplain, spring with peonies and steppe birds. In summer the sun is merciless; take two litres of water per person, even if “the mountain is low”.
Mark the routes on a map, do not count on a signal. After the climb you come down to Greci or Măcin for a soup; the plateau has no hut with a menu, only wind and stones.
