History
In 1864, under Abdul Aziz, a stone fountain was built at what was then the edge of Constanța, next to a spring toward Siutghiol. It is the only monument of this type left in the county. Water was collected here for the neighbourhood and for those coming from the port.
It stands at the exit toward Tomis and Aurel Vlaicu boulevards, from the same period of works as the Hunkiar Mosque. In 2015–2016 it was restored.
Do not stop in the junction to take a photograph. It is a five-minute pause, good if you are passing toward Mamaia or the north of the city.
