History
In the courtyard of the Ali-Gazi Pasha Mosque, a fountain takes a spring. Pilgrims used it to wash their hands before prayer. Dating wanders between 1610 and the late seventeenth century; what is certain is that it belongs to the same Ottoman ensemble as the mosque.
Legend has Ali Gazi Pasha, struck by the water of the place, leave money for the fountain and for the house of worship. Beside it stands the memory of Sari Saltuk Dede, the saint who gave the town its name. Drink only if you see locals using it; otherwise look at the stone, the trough and the shade in the courtyard.
Enter with covered dress, take off your shoes at the mosque, do not climb the fountain as if it were a photo plinth.
