History

Between 1897 and 1899, the Greek merchant Alexandru Avramide built himself a house next to St. Nicholas Cathedral in Tulcea. The façade is Belle Époque, with stucco and tall windows. The family lost it in the 20th century; after 2013 it was restored and reopened as the House of Collections.

Inside there are exhibitions of decorative art, glass, furniture, Oriental pieces - holdings of the county museum. The staircase and the salons are worth as much as the cases.

It is in the centre, on foot from the promenade. An hour. Check whether there is a temporary exhibition: they change quite often.
