Măcin geology
The oldest mountains in the country, under 500 m, granite and wind. Stay on the waymarks. We do not publish fragile GPS tracks and we do not turn a steppe ridge into a “peak to conquer”. Spring and autumn are better than August.
Why “the oldest”
An old orogeny, worn down, left as a wave of stone above Dobrogea. It is not altitude that cuts the breath — it is stone that cuts the wind. Culmea Pricopanului and Țuțuiatu are the names you will hear.
On foot
Waymarks, extra water, sun, wind. Greci is a gateway village. The path is not for motorbikes and not for ATVs. Weak signal. Offline map.
Flora
Dobrogea peony, steppe, low woodland. No picking, no GPS to the clumps. A photograph from the path is enough.
When you do not go
Midday heatwave, storm, ice on granite, a night idea without gear. Winter is for those who know, not for a reel.
