Dunavățu de Jos, in full
Dunavățu de Jos is a village at the end of the land road toward the Sfântu Gheorghe branch, near Murighiol. It is a village, not a site with an audio guide.
Historians link the area to the Danubian Sich, the settlement of Zaporozhian Cossacks after 1775. We state the traces; we do not rebuild a camp. Today's Ukrainian community is not a museum piece.
Halmyris fortress stands nearby, on another sheet. Do not enter a dig. The dirt road after rain is wet loess.
