The Danube–Black Sea Canal
The Danube–Black Sea Canal cuts through Dobrogea from Cernavodă toward Agigea and Năvodari. Locks, a hard construction-site story, public viewpoints. Do not enter technical enclosures. Looking from bridges and permitted banks is enough.
What you may see legally
Bridges, information points, announced banks, the museum at Agigea if it is open (check the listing). Watching a ship pass through a lock, from a distance, stands in for an invented “industrial tour”.
The story
A twentieth-century project, with layers of forced labour and of infrastructure. We read them in museums and in the memory guide, not on a selfie board.
Cernavodă and Agigea
The ends tie into bridges, the port and the A2. One stop, not a 60 km loop so you can “do the whole canal”.
