Babadag Forest
A forest beside the town of Babadag, on the road between Constanța and Tulcea. A walk, not off-road. It ties the mosque and the northern hills to real shade, rare in steppe Dobrogea.
What you look for
Oak, shade, walking paths, air damper than on DN22. Spring is the gentlest. In summer, it is a heatwave refuge for an hour, not a ridge route.
Rules
No ATVs, no fire, no litter. The car stays where it is allowed. Do not cut new tracks "because I have GPS".
With the town
A day in Babadag: the mosque, the türbe, Casa Panaghia if it is open, then an hour of forest. Do not reverse it: the forest does not excuse skipping the town.
Wildlife
It is a forest lived in by animals, not a running circuit with a speaker. Ticks in spring. Check yourself in the evening.
Winter
Mud, hunting possible in the permitted zones - respect the signs. It is not picnic season.
