History
Near Mangalia, the galleries at Limanu add up to between 3,200 and 4,000 metres - the longest karst network in Dobrogea. It is not a tunnel toward Bulgaria and it is not an underground city; it is a low, damp labyrinth, with halls and branches.
The stories tie it to Burebista's Dacians; Dio Cassius writes of withdrawals into caves, without naming the place. Archaeologically, traces of habitation and of refuge have been found, not a capital.
The visit is with a guide, with a torch, on your belly in some stretches. Do not go in alone. Shoes that get dirty, a change of clothes.
