History
On the way out of Măcin toward Cerna, a sign puts you on a gravel road. After almost a kilometre, at the foot of the mountains and beside a stone quarry, is the monastery with the dedication of the Life-Giving Spring, founded in 2005 on the initiative of Archbishop Teodosie of Tomis.
The house is young and withdrawn: cells, church, a courtyard of recollection. Do not confuse the place with the monastery at Niculițel; it is another community, another road, another landscape of stone and quarry dust.
Go with a car of decent clearance after rain. If you then climb a route in Măcin Mountains National Park, you already have a stop for shade and water before the ascent.
