The first day at +5 °C on a site
When the temperature passes five degrees after a freeze, loess and clay soften. Site steps, a Măcin path, a fortress bank: they slip. We do not publish a calendar day. We say what changes, when it happens.
The mud

The steps
Wet stone, without frost, is more slippery than obvious ice. You do not hold a wet rail. The same rule as in winter, without an ice show.
What we do not do
We do not give a forecast. We do not announce “the first thaw day”. If a road is closed, the sign decides. A site without staff remains a site, not an open museum.
