Eight people, one car
Eight people in one car means little space, one toilet stop and short patience. In autumn the light runs out. Two stops, not six. The third is for another day.
Two pairs that hold
Adamclisi and a plateau village on the way, without entering yards. Histria and Sinoe, on land, without promising Gura Portiței. Tulcea and a promenade, without a second boat. Pick one pair, not all of them.
The light
In October, at 15:00 it is already low: October light. In December, sunset is at 16:30. Do not set off for a third fortress “because it is on the way”.
What you do not do
Do not fill the boot with eight picnic rucksacks on a site. Do not leave someone at a gate “for five minutes”. A flat kilometre, if someone is not climbing: three routes.
