By boat, a full day, through the Danube Delta, about 82 km: from Tulcea Port to Sulina Beach, 5 stops. Board classic or fast boats to Sulina. A fishing village at mile 13, the crossroads of channels to Mila 23 and Caraorman. The wild beach where the Danube ends its 2,860 km course.
How to do the route
Allow a full day by boat through the Danube Delta. Check museum hours and bookings in season. Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve (ARBDD): follow the local rules and the instructions of the authorities or of authorised guides.
Stops on the route
- Portul Tulcea - Embark on classic or fast vessels to Sulina.
- Maliuc - A stop in the heart of the reedbeds; pelicans are never far away.
- Crișan - Fishing village at Mile 13, crossroads of channels to Mile 23 and Caraorman.
- Sulina - Lighthouse of the European Commission of the Danube (1870), now a museum, 2 km from the receding sea.
- Plaja Sulina - Wild beach where the Danube completes its 2,860 km journey.
