By car, half a day, along the Dobruja coast, about 54 km: from Ovidiu Square to the Callatis Museum, 4 stops. Start in the heart of ancient Tomis. The resort between the sea and Lake Techirghiol, with mud baths since 1894. Remains of the Dorian colony and Romania’s only ancient tomb with a papyrus.
How to do the route
Allow half a day by car. Set out early in the morning or in the afternoon, when it is cooler. Places of worship and pilgrimage: modest dress, silence during services, respect for the customs of the local community (Muslim, Orthodox or Lipovan).
Stops on the route
- Piața Ovidiu - Starting point: the heart of ancient Tomis.
- Eforie Nord - Resort between the sea and Lake Techirghiol, with mud baths since 1894.
- Techirghiol - Romania's largest salt lake, renowned for its sapropelic mud.
- Muzeul Callatis - Remains of the Dorian colony and Romania's only ancient tomb with papyrus.
