Tomis on today's street
Tomis did not vanish: it is under the square, under the blocks, in mosaic. Three points, not a whole city rebuilt. Piața Ovidiu, Edificiul cu mozaic, the archaeological park. Walk Ovidiu ties them on foot.
Piața Ovidiu
The forum. Walk Ovidiu starts here. The statue is twentieth-century; the stone under it is older. MINAC holds the cases.
Edificiul cu mozaic
The Roman commercial hall, if it is open. Half an hour. Ticket on the spot, if visits are running.
The archaeological park
Walls in the open, beside the mosque. A pause, a photograph, a glossary question: what is an enclosure wall?
