Season
Heatwave
The ancient sites are heat traps after 11, from June to August. Stone, no shade and the dry steppe wind tire you faster than a town thermometer. A good plan is start time, water and a retreat indoors, not "endurance".
The start
Histria, Tropaeum, Capidava, Enisala: at opening or not at all. In the afternoon, move the day into a museum, an air-conditioned bus or a seafront with a strip of shade. It is not cowardice, it is the ground.
Refuges
Museums, libraries, malls, the Aquarium, station waiting rooms. An hour of air-conditioning stands in for sunstroke. Check hours - some museums close on Monday.
Water
More than "one bottle for two people". In the Delta and on Măcin there is no ridge shop. Children ask for water before they say they feel unwell.
Clothes
A hat, a light-coloured shirt, not bare skin "to tan on the fortress". Closed shoes - the gravel burns.
Who stays in at midday
Older visitors, small children, anyone on medicines that dislike the sun. The seniors' guide and the family guide have slower rhythms, not just lists of sights.
